2006 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged

Who is Cobalts_Matter?

Cobalts_Matter's real name is Hunter VanMackelberg. He really started to get into the whole car scene within the past year or so. When it comes to owning a cobalt, this isn't his first rodeo. He's owned two others prior to getting the SS supercharged model. After getting the SS supercharged model in January he got sponsored by "customdecals". They specialize in decals and car wraps. But getting that sponsorship wasn't the only thing that had happened after getting the SS Supercharged model. He also joined a group called "So Scare" and has been apart of their group since January. When it comes to his future aspirations car wise, getting a jdm car is at the top of his list. More specifically a Supra is what he wants. It's a car that he's always been in love with and wants to own one someday.

Engine

As you pop open the front hood of the car, you'll see that it's powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder engine. The car currently can make 205 horsepower and has roughly around 200 lb-ft of torque. Which for a cobalt isn't half bad, especially since it's still stock. Even with it being stock, it can produce 12 psi of boost. That 12 psi of boost get's the car moving a little bit faster than your regular cobalt that you see out on the road.

Performance parts

Here's a list that shows the different performance parts that have been added to his car so far:

- ZZP shorty header

- ZZP 2.5 catless downpipe

- K&N cold air intake

- Spec D Tuning 3 inch muffler

Exterior

When it comes to what color the exterior of the car is, it's ultra silver metallic. That color in my opinion is very attractive on the cobalt. It allows for the black details to really stand out. Especially those black stripes near the front of the car. They add a racecar type of vibe to the car. But those black stripes aren't the only thing that stand out, when looking at the front of the car. If you take a look at the headlights, they aren't your typical cobalt lights. They got switched out for Halo headlights. Which was a good move, especially with the way that his car looks. It just suits it really well and makes the front of the car look more aggressive when you look at it. Moving from the front of the car to the backend of the car, the view does not disappoint. Instead of the taillights being red like they are other cars, he decided to black them out. With blacking them out, it suits the whole color concept of the car way better. Plus with blacking them out, it allows it to match the high rise carbon fiber wing. The carbon fiber wing could have been either a low rise or mid rise wing. But instead of switching it up, he stuck with the high rise wing. Which honestly just ties in the whole look of the car together. But it doesn't end there, underneath the car he has underglow lights installed. Personally I love underglow lights, it just really allows the car to stand out when they are turned on. But even with just turning them on, it actually has to look good under the car. In this case, the underglow lights look really good along with the color scheme and overall look of the car.

Future plans for car

For his SS Supercharged build it seems like the build has only begun. Hunter is interested in getting:

- ZZP stage 3 kit which includes a smaller pulley, bigger fuel injectors, bigger intercooler and a tune

- Coilovers

- ZZP dual pass plate

- Aero kit

- Different rims

My final thoughts on Cobalts_Matter's car

When it comes to Hunter's car, I honestly like what he's done with it so far. The front, back, and underneath the car all look unique from other cobalt's that you see everyday out on the road. The power though that the car gives out isn't anything really special. For a cobalt putting out 205 hp is decent, but nowadays there are lot's of faster cars out there. I like his ambitions though that he has for the car in the upcoming future. It shows that he's hungry for change and wants to make his car better. Which I like a lot since it's similar to the same mindset I have when it comes to my cobalt. In all though I really like his SS Supercharged model cobalt, and can't wait to see his future plans come together for the car.
