2016 Subaru DGM STI

When it comes to Z_Sti's car its a charcoal grey 2016 Dgm Sti. I'm not the biggest Subaru fan but with the way this car looks and how good it sounds, I've grown a spot for it in my heart. Since its the Wrx/Sti model it's powered by a 305-hp 2.5-liter flat-four with 290-lb-ft, with a six speed manual transmission. The car has been tuned, but hasn't been dyno tested yet.

The car has had quite a few things performance wise done to it. It has a boost controller, turbo back, and as I've mentioned already a tune. But, it also has a ETS catback with a muffler delete. Along with the ETS catback and muffler delete it has a Invidia catted downpipe. With a GS EBCS (helps with boost pressure) and the tune which was done by Bren tuning with a burble tune. When it comes to that burble tune, I enjoy listening to it whenever he posts a clip of himself driving the car. It just sounds so clean, and makes the car have an aggressive feel towards it.

In this video that Z_STI posted you'll be able to see what kind of power his car can make. But more importantly you'll be able to hear that burble tune and how amazing it sounds while out on the road.

When it comes to what is on the exterior of the car, it has a factory Wrx/Sti spoiler. The Wrx/Sti factory spoilers have to be one of my favorite spoiler's out there right now. The old Wrx/Sti spoiler's also looked really clean and sporty looking and with the newer ones they really implemented that same look into them. Also, with the spoiler there is a shark fin rooftop spolier. The shark fin rooftop spoiler is most of the time a hit or miss for people (if they like it or not). But on his car with how it looks, it really compliments the car well and adds that aggressive look to it. The car also has quad exhaust tips and has a black rear diffuser. That black rear diffuser is a really nice touch on the car, and it just really ties in the whole backend of the car well.

Moving on from the backend to the front of the car, you'll see that it has a pretty unique look to it. On the front hood, it has a hood scoop on it. The hood scoop allows the flow of air to directly enter the engine compartment, it basically helps the engine cool down quicker. Aside from the performance aspect of the hood scoop, I personally think that it adds a sporty look to the car, and makes the car stand out more. shifting our attention from the hood scoop, the front lip and headlights also tie in nicely with the overall look of the car. It makes the front of the car look mean and sporty, which really separates itself from other boring looking daily cars that you see everyday out there on the road.

If you look down at the wheels on the car, they are actually stock Wrx/Sti wheels. For stock wheels, they actually match the car really well and they look really good aesthetically. If you look to the back of the car again, not to long ago the license plate backing was changed. It was changed from charcoal grey to carbon fiber. Changing the license plate backing is a pretty small change on a car. But, the carbon fiber compliments the car really well, and just makes it look different from other Wrx/Sti's that are out on the road.

When it comes to the interior of the car, its the base model interior but fully loaded. The steering wheel is hyper red leather wrapped, 'D' shaped with dimpled hand grips and hyper red stitching. When first discovering what the steering wheel looked like I wasn't to impressed by it. But the more I looked at it through videos and pictures, it really started to grow on me. It has that sleek look to it, and that red stitching really brings the steering wheel alive and makes it seem more engaging for the driver to use when out on the road. Its those little details on a car that really grabs my attention when I observe them. Moving on from the steering wheel, the seats are alcantara seats with red leather on the outside of the seat. When I first saw these seats I thought they were some sort of aftermarket seats. That's how highly I thought of them. But later discovered that they are just the factory seats that come with the Wrx/Sti models. Still with knowing they are just factory seats, they look really good in the car. The color on the seats corresponds really well with the steering wheel and makes the interior look more vibrant and alive. When it comes to the shift knob its a standard shift knob with a red shift pattern. And around the shift knob there is carbon fiber trimming with the STI logo embedded in red. Those two basically go hand and hand with each, and look very elegant.

My final thoughts...

When it comes down to what I think of this 2016 Subaru Dgm Sti, all I can say my opinion has changed. I used to not be a big Subaru fan but after educating myself about the Sti/Wrx model, I've sort of fallen in love with this car now. I've fallen in love with the interior and exterior of the car. And how well you can make this car sound with the proper tuning done to it. Just goes to show that if you give a car a chance and get to learn more about it, your opinion might change about it. Because in my case I really disliked Subaru's but once I saw Z_STI's Wrx/Sti, I wanted to give it a chance to see if things would change opinion wise and it did.
